Musicians

Musicians as well as dancers did perform at ceremonies, banquets, funerals, and festivals. There are many types of instruments including a lyre, sistrum, harp, bells, and symbols. Musicians played for dancers when they performed. Musicians are very much admired especially harp players. Farmers a lot of times would sing to their cattle in the fields.





Singers

As well as the dancers and musicians,singers performed at ceremonies, funerals, festivals, banquets. All singers must be women. If they sing with a harp it must be a song of honor and if a singer sings with a priest it means they are honoring male gods. Sometimes singers will also sing to honor the dead. Professional singers are called a songstress. Just as well as the musicians singers were very respected too.






Wrestling

Egyptians loved sports very much. Their most common sports included boxing, rowing, high jump, tug-of-war, archery, gymnastics, and, wrestling. Their favorite sport was wrestling. In ancient Egypt wrestling competitions were very common. Boys in ancient egypt were encouraged to wrestle to make them tougher. In the wrestling games, a group of boys would gang up on only one boy. If the boy would escape he was considered a hero and if he didn’t he would get beat up by the other boys.
